Our Mission

RehabCostGuide was created to solve a problem that affects millions of Americans every year: the price of addiction treatment is almost never discussed openly. Facilities rarely publish their rates. Cost information on the internet is fragmented, outdated, and often produced by facilities with a financial interest in what they recommend.

We aggregate and publish cost data — average prices for inpatient, outpatient, luxury, and publicly funded treatment — by state, by substance, and by program type. We explain how insurance works, what Medicaid and Medicare cover, and what questions to ask before committing to a program. Our goal is to give individuals and families the information they need to make confident, informed decisions.

We are funded entirely through advertising. We do not accept referral fees from treatment centers, do not operate a pay-to-rank facility directory, and do not steer readers toward any specific provider.

What You'll Find on RehabCostGuide

How We Compile Our Data

Our cost estimates are compiled from publicly available sources including government databases (SAMHSA, CMS, state health departments), peer-reviewed research, investigative journalism, and direct outreach to treatment providers. We do not represent our ranges as exact quotes — treatment costs vary significantly based on facility, program length, services included, and individual insurance coverage.

We update our data regularly as prices and coverage rules change. If you believe a figure on our site is significantly out of date or inaccurate, please contact us.
